Blairgowrie & Rattray mills
During the Industrial Revolution, Blairgowrie and Rattray was a bustling centre of the textile industry, first spinning flax, then jute and latterly rayon. There were 16 mills located along the banks of the River Ericht, many of which can be seen on a walk along the riverside. Some have been renovated into homes or holiday accommodation, while others have fallen into ruin.
