The RVS provide a number of services in support of the NHS that rekindle the notion of volunteer service as a gift that will go some way to addressing the needs of our older people. Our services include Social Transport (volunteers using their own cars to transport our clients to and from hospital and medical appointments, clubs or just visiting family and friends). Supporting You at Home (focussing on independent living through assistance with shopping, nutritional and strength and balance, links to local social activities or just a bit of company). Supporting Your Recovery (transporting patients home from hospital, assisting with initial shopping requirements and supporting them through their recovery period at home. Supporting Healthy and Happy Lives (stimulating activity in a social environment such as social clubs and lunch clubs) and Home Library Service (delivering books to those unable to get to the local library whilst providing important social contact).

Mileage expenses are paid for any use of private cars when carrying out volunteering roles.
