Informal running group

Blairgowrie Runners are an accessible, informal running group meeting each Saturday morning in Blairgowrie to run 4(ish) miles topped off by a social blether and coffee & cake at The Cateran Café (when Covid rules allow).

Since our inception in 2016 we have grown our members group and maintained our love of running despite some of the killer hills local to Blairgowrie! We are open to all abilities and welcome new faces. Our newly developed motto of “leave no one behind – unless it’s a Strava segment” is more representative of our sense of humour rather than our philosophical view on elite running, although we do a bit of that too!

Blairgowrie Runners have 4 Jog Scotland trained Run Leaders as well as some very experienced runners whose abilities range from 10km fun races to marathons, ultra marathons and extreme or endurance events in Scotland the UK and abroad.

From early 2022 we plan to welcome new members to the group - ‘Members’ sounds very formal, we are not. Membership simply means you are part of a group of like-minded individuals who like to run for pleasure, general fitness and comradery. Covid restrictions during this past year have limited our ability to meet in groups larger than 15 and though we remain bound by Scottish Government guidance we can now accept more runners to the group. Simply contact us through our Facebook page, search Blairgowrie Runners

We plan to launch a series of ‘Couch to 5km’ programs for local people interested in giving running a go or improving their fitness, stamina, or general health. Follow us on Facebook for news and recent updates.
